Can I use this CPU?

    Currently, I have a Celeron 2.6GHZ Northwood, but I want a Prescott Celeron 2.66 GHZ 533FSb 256 L2 cache. I don´t need a pentium 4 or an athlon. Will this prescott work with a FSP Group ATX300-PA 300W PSU?
    Here are my basic specs:
    Celeron 2.6GHZ
Seagate barracuda 5400RPM 40GB drive (looking for a SATA drive)
    MSI 661FM2 motherboard
Looking for a Radeon 9600 XT
    1 DVD drive, 1 cd-rw, 1 floppy
    that´s all.
Will the PSU work with that setup?
    Thanks

    It should work.

Make sure you get a celeron d in socket 478 format, not the newer lga775 type.
Also, check what bios you have installed first, it looks like the compatibililty test was done with bios 7060v12, if yours is equal or greater, then you're fine, but if your below, then I'd recommend flashing your bios to the newest one.
Upgrading to a 2.66 prescott cel d won't be a great improvement in performance though. A 2.8ghz prescott cel d would only be like $8 more.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will be getting it soon. I has to be a great improvement over a standard Celeron.
Thanks for your help. This is the best place to get help.
    Thanks :)
