ok hi people, this is what happened. i was reinstalling XP home edition and the computer shut down in the middle of it. Now whenever i restart the computer it doesnt boot. it starts then it just shuts down the same second. i tried hitting all the F keys and Esc and Delete everytime i restart to go to the boot menu thing and it doesnt do anything. the start light is always on but it goes nowhere.

Hmm.. sounds like you might have a serious hardware problem.

    1. Can you access you BIOS?
    2. Did your computer stop because of a power outage? If so maybe your PSU was fried. You should try to replace it and see if that solves you problem.

There may be other causes but try to check these 2 for now and report back. Also.. what do you mean by "start light"?
