Can not find server error

Please help! I am trying to log on to my secure work site. You do not need to place WWW before the web site. I use to be able to get to the site, but had trouble getting to the webmail page. Now I can not get to anything! I just get "can not find server". We are running Windows XP sp 2, IE 6. We have checked all our Norton settings, our security settings (SSL 2.0, 3.0 etc). We have emptied our cookies, temp files, done everything HP/Microsoft suggests and still no luck. I also ran across another site today that did not require WWW (secure site) and got the same error message. Please help, I need to turn my work in. I can get to the site on my iPAQ, so I do know that there is nothing wrong with the site, I'm sure it is somewhere in our settings, etc. Thanks so much.
