Can Sony Comp. CPUs, be switched out?

I have a pcvrx860 and really need to upgrade the processor. The current one is a 2.4ghz, with a foxconn fan and heatsink on top and i would like to replace it with this one or something like it, that would fit.

Find the exact model of your motherboard, and look on the Foxconn website what processors that mobo accepts. You may also need a BIOS update (if available from Sony! not from Foxconn).
    In theory it should work.
