Can sound be added to HDMI

  1. I use my Media Center PC as a recorder. Currently I run an S-video cable to the TV and RCA connectors to the stereo receiver for sound. I have done a little research and find that the DVI connector on my video card can be adapted to HDMI standard. Is there a way to add sound to the HDMI so that I need not run separate sound and video cables? I envision a DVI to HDMI adapter with a couple of RCA sound connectors. Alternately, are there any PCI boards or USB options to combine sound and video to the HDMI cable?

HDMI can carry digital sound, not analog.

For some reason I can't find a single adapter that would do this (DVI + digital sound -> HDMI) however...
