why did they change it from previous o/s's where you could disable DMA for each drive itself? just wondering.
you still do, you just do it from the properties of the controller. You don't have to change both devices, they are each listed, along with dropdown boxes to choose the mode.
It is so because DMA is done by the controller and not the drive. You might as well want to change 3D aceleration settings in monitor properties.
Microsoft has to confuse you with every new OS. It turned out to be low quality CDR discs causing the problems . Thanks
