Cannot connect to the internet

    ok I'm not a computer person anyways I have a gateway model MX3228 XP home edition SP3 after running AVG 9 scan I was unable to connect to IE a "friend"was going to fix it now it gets bad avg is no longer installed I still cannot connect to the internet and now I cannot connect to my wireless network I could before it was worked on What I have done since Used thumb drive to put AVG9 back on but can't install without intrernet connection any help would be awsome thanks

    ok I uninstalled avg restarted installed Avira did a complete scan still no connection

    That's strange, you must also have a simple CheckDisk error that requires fixing:

    Start > Run > chkdsk /r > ok > Y > Enter > Restart

    Please note one space after the chkdsk command

    After restarting your computer will run CheckDisk, allow it to fix any errors and eventually automatically go back to normal mode.
