Cannot find c:\windows\system32\rundkk32.exe error

  1. Hi there. So I'm a Vista user, and for a while now whenever I go into my control panel to try and change say... personal settings(more recently I wanted to turn off the boot up sound) i get a popup that says Windows cannot find c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe. The only way I can think of fixing this problem is to wipe the hard drive and re-install the operating system. Does anyone know if there are less...extreme, alternatives?

    Thanks,
    Leesus

    hopefully you mean rundll32.exe
Because if not you might have some malware present

Also if it's rundll32 then, you might need to repair Windows
