Cannot open add/remove program XP

Hello every one

Recently I run into a problem on my Pc. Every time I try to open add/remove
I get the error message cannot open . it is being used by another program
system32. I try to look for system 32 on C:\windows but could not find it .
Any help would be great as I am affraid that My pc is infected by virus
What should I do?
I have XP INSTALED

Post a fresh HJT log as an attachment into this thread, only after doing the above.
