Cannot read dvds

last week i installed farcry and since then my liteon dvd combo drive will not recognize that there is a dvd in the drive. CDs and cdroms work fine but no go for dvds. it is rather frustrating seeing as i have uninstalled/reinstalled the drive itself, rolled back/updated the drivers, run through all the trouble shooting guides, and everything else i can think of. any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you uninstalled farcry and then tried??? then maybe install farcry on your other cd drive if you have one.

yep that was the first thing that i tried and i have even searched throught the registry for references to it to no avail.
