Cannot see both drives after cloning!! Please help

Emachine fried its mobo. New one installed with a new psu. New SATA 250 g drive installed. Cloned from old ide 80g. Can boot from both but when I boot from the new SATA drive I cannot see the old one. When I boot from the old one I can see both. I want to boot from new sata and reformatt the old one. Help please?????

yes they are both in the bios. When i press f9 to enter boot either will boot but it does not save the order and like I said when I boot from the new sata drive the old one dissapears in windows after startup.

do you mean that it hasn't been assigned a drive letter, or that it is totally gone (hardware not detected)? check the device manager and disk management. disk management is under control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management. check both locations.
