Cannot start setup

I wanted to install a program and when I clicked on the setup file, this came up "Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed". What can the causes be, and are there any solutions to this problem?

Found this solution on another forum, hope it helps.

Go into your device manager->IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Right click on secondary and choose properties. Go to the advanced settings tab and choose PIO only for "transfer mode". I would ensure that your drive is connected to the secondary controller first though.
