I have been working for a day and a half and follow all of the directions in the post concerning what to do before posting my hijackthis log and my computer is still infected by something. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Download and run these four tools. Follow the instructions for using each tool.

    Tool1 Tool2 Tool3 Tool4

Post a fresh HJT log into this thread, only after doing the above.

    Regards Howard

Run HJT with no other programmes open. Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

    O18 - Protocol: msnim - {828030A1-22C1-4009-854F-8E305202313F} - "C:\PROGRA~1\MSNMES~1\msgrapp.dll" (file missing)

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: cbaab - C:\WINDOWS\System32\cbaab.dll (file missing)

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: winvgk32 - winvgk32.dll (file missing)

Click on the fix checked button.

    Close HJT.

Other than the above inactive entries, your HJT log is clean.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

    Regards Howard :)
