Can't double click in W2K

I have done a recent clean reinstall of W2K and now cannot double click on anything either in the taskbar to launch software, or in OE to show an email in a separate window. Irritating in the extreme........ does anyone have any idea how I can fix this prob? Apologies if this has been covered before.

Just a thought, have you checked in mouse properties in control panel to check if the double click speed has been set very high?
