  1. Comic Sans MSI recently upgraded from Win98 SE to Win2K Pro. After the upgrade I can no longer see my SATA drive. This is an Athalon Barton 3200 Processor w/512MB RAM, ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe MB. Any idea how I can get this drive to be seen? It is a WD800 SATA. Worked fine with the Win98 SE os

Did you install the drivers for the SATA controller?

 What drivers are there... I upgraded from Win98SE and the drive showed up without any problems. I installed all the drivers from the ASUS CD and this has produced no better results.

Can you lead anywhere else from here?

XP uses a different driver than 98. You need the xp driver on a floppy disk for XP and there is an option to hit F6 to install in during the XP install/upgrade. The two drivers although for the same thing are completely different.

Hope this is of some help?

    IMHO
