cant format partitions after installing xp

Hello Mods and Mems,

This is strange. I installed XP Pro on a new WD 160.
I partitioned it into 3 drives, formatted C:\ and installed
and now cant access the other two drives to format.
What had always happened before was XP would see the
unformatted partitions and ask if I wanted to format them.
I just got the C drive setup the way I want it, ao I dont want
to wipe and start fresh.
Any ideas?

What does your Disk Management show when you switch to that?
Maybe the Logical Disk Manager service is not 'ON' yet, and your firewall is blocking?
Have you tried programs like Partition Magic?
