Can't install the sims on my computer

I have windows XP running on my computer and i keep trying to install the sims and it wont work. It keeps bringing an error message stating: [c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.] I want to be able to install this and play it, is there anything I can do?

Try looking here, it worked for me.............

Where it says insert the cd, it means your Windows cd.
