Can't install xp pro

    I have a pc that lost it's OS mysteriously. I wiped the drive and fdisked it and put in my xp disk to re install windows, but when it starts loading, it says "cannot create WINDOWS/TEMP" Hit enter to retry or F3 to exit
    Is the hard drive screwed?

    Download a WinME bootdisk from bootdisk.com...FDisk the drive again and make sure you make it a primary active partition...Then re-boot with the floppy at the A: prompt type format C: /u and hit enter.

    Then re-boot with the XP CD in and you should be good to go.

    Yes, I think you forgot to format the drive after fdisking it.
