Can't seem to get the AGP setting to 4x

Hi there,

For some reason , smartgart doesn't allow me to set agp setting to 4x.

Here's my config:
amd athlon 2000+
asus nforce a7n266vm mobo (award bios)
2*256 MB DDR@266Mhz
samsung spinpoint 60 gb
XpertVision radeon 9800pro 256 Mb ddr1@250Mhz(3dmark03-details)

The system gives a score of 3600 with 3dmark03 . I was wondering if it would make any difference changing the agp setting to 4x. Also the "Total agp memory" is 118MB and local video memory and texture memory are 256 Mb (3dmark 03 system details) . I want to know why total memory is just 118 Mb.

Also , if I were to overclock the memory speed how much can I overclock it to ? Speed is set at 250Mhz by the manufacturer , can overclock to about 350Mhz or so ??

Its set at 1x .

I ve set my agp aperature setting at 256 Mb too , just so that you know.

The first thing I would try is setting the apeture back to default (64 or 128) also are you overclocking anything? if the card has never worked at 8X and it is an 8X capable mob then either the mobo is defective or the card is.
