When I turn on my computer sometimes , my CD drives don't get recognized. I cant see it in the "My Computer" screen. Can i fix this? thanks in advance. :grinthumb
    p.s. I have 2 CD drives: a 52x Creative CD-ROM, and a Sony 8x4x32 CD-RW .

Inspect the power and data cables on the drives, with the system powered off. Unplug them and plug them back in. Also check where the data cable connects to the mobo.

I have seen this problem on some machines running XP is that what you are using? sometimes the Cd drives are recognized and sometimes they arent. do they show up during the boot process?

One solution that worked for me is going into the Bios and setting the CD rom as first boot device. another method if they are being recognized during the boot but not in windows is to delete them in device manager( if they are there) and reboot the machine and let windows redetect them.
