CD ripper inflicts glitches (some obvious, others not)

I've ripped some CDs with Audiograbber. When playing back, I've caught some glitches, so I re-ripped, and made sure that I wasn't running any other commands in order to minimize interference. I gathered that surfing the web or running various other programs while ripping CDs might cause Audiograbber to struggle a bit, and then cause those glitches.

I was able to get rips that didn't have any noticeable glitches. However, in order to make sure that I got a perfect rip, I would rip twice. I would then compare the 2 rips, and I found that, while they both sounded perfect, they were in fact slightly different. I'm not going to go into the method I used to determine this, but take my word for it, it is a trustful method.

My goal is to rip my CDs perfectly. I want the copy the data from the CD onto my computer exactly as it is on the CD (of course this means I don't rip in mp3 or other compressed formats -- I thick to WAV). Can anyone give me advice in getting a proper ripping method?

Thanks.
