About a week ago this randomly started happening. My computer has also been very sluggish. I have no viruses and barely any programs/processes running in the background. Then one day my computer froze for the first time ever, then came back to life, froze again so I turned it off, and had a strange idea to switch ram slots and sata slots. Sure enough it was one of those...or so I thought. The computer is much more stable now, though I am still getting these messages in my event viewer.
"The driver detected a controller error on \Device\CdRom0."
Multiple times with no pattern or cd rom drive usage. What could be causing it? What should I check first?
EDIT: The cd rom drive sometimes is not detected by my computer. Also, putting cd's in renders the computer unresponsive even after I restart explorer.
