Hey.

Well I'm not really sure if this is in the right part of forums. But anyways...Everything on my computer works you know. It starts up and everything but whenever I go to "My Computer" my Cd-Rom doesn't show.
I've tried removing the plugs and putting them back in. I've also taken out the cd rom i had in and got another cd rom that was working from another computer and put it on mine but it still didn't recognize it. Now I'm just baffled. I usually Reformat my comp every 2 months or so maybe 3 months, but never when I've re formatted has my cd rom not showed. Yes I just did reformat about 2-3weeks ago and my cd rom was working for the first 2 or so days but then it never showed again. Any help would be appreciated.

What OS are you running ? ?
To see if it is hardware related trying another CD drive was a good idea. I would also try another cable as well.
Also try another IDE connector. Since the hard drive is working try connecting the CD drive as a slave on that cable to see if it shows up.
Also check in the BIOS to see if it is being recognised there as well...
