Centering Logitech Joystick

This my first msg. on this forum. I just installed a two year old Logitech and find the it is not centered left/right and I cannot find anything in its help file to do that and don't have any other help for it.

are you sure the joystick is installed with the correct drivers? if it's using the generic microsoft ones or any other drive that's not for that particular model it can cause things like this. if it is a new joystick then did you use the installation cd that came with it

i don't mean to sound patronising but i'm covering as many bases as i can

NP on the patronizing I used the proper CD that came with the device

ok, i don't suppose you're using vista

or there's a calibration thing in the settings for joysticks that lets you centre it and stuff
