changing extensions

  1. I changed a .mov file to a .mpeg file so I could use it on windows movie maker but it still doesnt work. How can I run .mov file on windows movie maker?

    The .MOV extension specifies an Apple QuickTime file. For any viewer to use, you must download QuickTime/iTunes from

    Once this has been done, Media Player, Movie Maker or Apple's own QuickTime viewer will be able to view/play the file.

    Changing the file extension won't change the format the video is encoded in (In the same way changing .doc to .mpeg won't change your Word document into a video). If you stick "convert quicktime to mpeg" into a search engine you'll find several ways to do this however.

    Hey thaks i found a program and it converted them all and now they work with movie maker :)
