    Hi!

I recently bought an IBM lap top off ebay. The laptop is working fine. However when I check the properties in my computer it is registered to the old user.

    How can I change it.

    jump into the registry

    hi,

Depending on your Operating System you should be able to find the registration details at the following Registry Key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Just change the name in the String to whatever you want....

the more stupid people think you are, the more suprised they'll be when you kill them

    enter the registry

    sorry,

    go to:

    Start, Run
Type: "regedit" without the quotation marks
    Click OK

The Registry Editor will open up.

On the left hand column, navigate to the following location:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Now, in the right hand window: There is a key called: "RegisteredOwner"

Double click on it and the properties will open up.

change the name/value data to your desired name, Click OK.

    Close the Registry Editor.

Check in System Properties (Right click My Computer/Properties)

Your Registered to: name should now be changed.

    Thanks!

While testing the Laptop I installed XP 3 times. When the laptop boots up it shows all the three installations.

How can I remove the other 2.
