I have a c-media CMI 9880L sound on board the system. I tried upgrading to windows 7 and the sound doesn't work it shows the sound as High Definition audio device but shows problem running it. (yellow triangle in device manager). It doesn't update it self try updating it it goes the drivers are all up to date doesn't let you manually update it goes windows determined they are all up to date. The compatibility thing tool on windows xp showed it as compatible. Any advice?

Did you go to your motherboard's website, find your exact motherboard model and update the drivers from there? If not, do so.

If this a prebuilt like a Dell, HP, etc. then go to their website, find your exact model and update the drivers.
