CoD2 Connection problems, Please help.

Hi, I wanted to know if anyone could help me out with my internet connection? It's fine in all the other Call Of Duty games besides this one. I ususally get a ping of 70-80's but in this game im getting 140 and up! I tryed shuting off my firewall and still no change. But my friends say when I minimize the ping goes to 70s-80s! Can you please help me out?
