i have a samsung combodrive which can read cds and it used to read dvd files but now it can't play and read dvds. can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

the drive maybe just needs to be cleaned. there are cleaning disc available in computer shops.
did you try different brands of dvd's? doesn't it play self made dvd's or does it even not play "bought" movie/software dvd's?

i tried different brands of dvd's but to no avail.. but when i tried the dvd's on other pc it works fine.. i also used those cd cleaner but it still doesn't work after cleaning it..

well at this stage I would search the samsung support pages for firmware updates and if that don't work throw the drive away and get me a new one...
