combofix......quarantine

  1. Hello all, another poser....

I had a bad virus infection a few months ago (vundo) and it caused havoc, got it all sorted now, but was advised to run Combofix, which I did and it quarantined a file called 'autorun.inf.vir' on my d drive (recovery).

I ran the file through Jotti and it said it was clean, so I guess a false positive?
(also scanned with Avast, Spyware Terminator and Superantispy)

Main query now is what does that file do? and how do I get it back from quarantine if I need it? (no OS disks just recovery on d)

Thanks in advance for any ideas..... :)

Windows XP SP2 all patches in place

That file is unnecessary, you can just delete it from quarantine.
