Comm link -> iPhone4 and Sony FDR-1000V action cam

A product-related question. Am seeking an alternative to the Sony Live-View Remote RM-LVR2 as a 'large' VIEWFINDER for camera use.

Advice needed on using an iPhone 4 or 5 as a viewfinder with a WiFi-enable Sony Action Cam (FDR-1000V).

Any experiences to share? Community of practice to tap into? Thoughts on this?

Performance comparisons, in the field, using a Sony Live-View Remote vs an iPhone 4/5?
