  1. my son was playing a dos based game called boduko. on exiting, the system was still in dos and refused to change into windows.

all attempts result in a message saying that the file is missing.

now when i start up my computer, it is always in dos with the same message as above. can any kind soul help? thanks!!!!

    If your using XP

Put the XP CD in the drive, set BIOS to boot from CD.

Boot to the recovery console as described HERE

At the command prompt type expand d:\i386\command.nt_ c:\windows\system32\command.nt as HERE

Assuming the main drive is c and the CD drive is d.

    For 98 -

    Put 98 CD in drive.At a prompt type expand d:\i386\command.co_ c:\windows\system32\

    That`s the theory.Keep fiddling `til it works.
