comp turns off when playing 3-d games

    every time i play 3-d games like the sim2,gunz the dual, and halo it turn off after half and hour or so... dont really know what's wrong.


    The num lock and power led is still on when it shuts down.


    My Specs are:
    AMD Sempron 2600
    AsRock K7VT4A Pro
    ATi 9600Pro
    256 Generic
    350watt psu

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

    Sounds like something is overheating to me.

    Check your cpu temps, also cleanout any dust bunnies from inside you computer.

    If you remove the side panel from your case, you can aim a desk fan into your case. If the situation improves, then it`s almost certainly an overheating problem, possibly your videocard.

    Some extra case fans may also improve the situation.

    yea i think it is my video card... it's pretty hot.

    My cpu temp is around 45C
