Compaq Proliant 2500 Server Cannot Load OS / Boot Issues

Hi

I just got a 2500 Server with 1G RAM and 6 9.1 Gb drives. However, it was wiped before I got it. I'm trynig to get it to boot so that I can install a server, but nothing seems to work right. Can't access BIOS, having trouble reading from disk drive, got part way through 2000 Server install and then wouldn't recognize CD.

Any thoughts. Any idea how to get into BIOS?

Please help.

John

Compaq BIOS setup is invoked by pressing F10 at bootup IIRC, the RAID/SCSI BIOS has its own key combination that is shown to you.

AFAIK you need to have the Compaq system partition for the embedded BIOS setup utility to work. If the hard drives were wiped, then you need to download the System Configuration Utility floppies from HP and use those. Or use the SmartStart CD that you hopefully got with the server. If not, then you could ask your local friendly HP representative for one.
