Computer Crashes, Hijackthis log inside

My computer has crashed since day one and I've had it almost 2 years now. When I say crashes, I mean the whole thing just shuts off like you pulled the plug. I used to think it was heat related but I am not as sure now. It started out very randomly and would usualy only occure after playing World of Warcraft for some time. Tech Support suggested reseating my heatsink and it seamed like the problem went away for about a month. I could blow out the insides (wich are never really that dusty) and it would seam fine for a week or two. But recentely it has started happening alot more often. I pipe the air from the a/c directly to the case and that helps some but even so it will still shut down somtimes after playing for as little as 5 mins. Today it shut down just while my kid was on a random internet gaming site.
It has only once given me any kind of error from it and that was just yesterday. unfortunatly I failed to write it down but it mentioned a video loop, and the suggested fix was to update my drivers or turn off hardware accelleration.
I updated my vid driver and had no change at all.
I am not sure what all info I can give you to help me figure it out so please just let me know what you need.
my system was built by Cyberpower
its an athalon 64 3200+ 2.01 ghz
2G dual channel ddr
gigabyte k8nf-9 motherboard
geforce 7800gt pcie vid card
nzxt pp500 500w psu

Any help will be greatly apreciated

Good motherboard and cpu, but I am curious about the CPU fan, thermal paste in the heat sink, video graphics card or video graphics driver. and perhaps you are using slow (Value Ram) memory which has slow latency, and slow timings.
What memory are you using? You report 2 G dual channel ddr,
but the recommended memory is different.
That board will use DDR PC3200, DDR PC2700, DDR PC4000 with a maximum of 1 GB per slot.
Try to borrow memory to test.
If you are using the PC2700 modules of different sizes, that could be part of the cause. Or if you got a deal on cheap memory, you could have latency problems.
If it were my motherboard, I would put in two modules of 2 GB kit memory DDR PC3200 or 1 GB of kit memory DDR PC4000 (Kit means both modules are identical and purchased at the same time.)
Since this has been happening for a long time, I suspect the memory first, and the video card or the video graphics driver.
Next, download the latest drivers for that video card. Once you have them, remove or disable the old ones and go with the latest ones... even though you have recently changed them. If you have the latest now, download an earlier version.
We do not suspect the power supply, unless it is a pretty crummy one.

The memory was advertised as Corsair Value Select pc3200. I tried swapping them to each others locations on a whim once with no results. It is 2 sticks of 1gig each.

Corsair Value Select may not be good enough, timings-wise, or latency wise, but I use it and have had no problems with it. It will not work in several ASUS boards, but I not seen any negatives on a GigaByte board.

If it shuts down to protect itself, shouldnt i be able to find some sort of log of why its shutting itself off?

Of course, and there are at least four experts on this forum who can offer detailed analysis that will get you somewhere. Just post your log with a title that is easy to spot for these busy people. It has the advantage of finding infestations and errors, thus getting you to a repair, or ruling out some things you must rule out. It will not spot hardware problems, because it is not looking for them.
I recommend you download and run the free, and excellent, HiJack This. Be sure it is the latest version.
Also run DxDiag (Start->Run->CMD<enter>->DxDiag<enter>
Then post your logs to this forum if you need advice. Momok, Howard_Hopkinson, and two others are especially good.
There may be others. I am not experienced in this area.
There is no perfect tool for problems such as those you mention, or somebody would be making a lot of money with it. But anytime you can reduce the possibilities so you eliminate some of the guesswork, you are ahead.

Thanks so much fo rthe replies, here is the list from hijackthis v2.0.2.

I greatly apologize if this was way more info than I needed to submit!!

Again I apologize for so many posts but I was trying out some of the suggestions i've read here. I removed one stick of ram, tried the system until it crashed and then swapped and tried until it crashed.
While running this test I moved the system away from the ac vent because I didnt want to skew the results.
I watched the temp display on the front climb to 85.9F both times and then drop very slightly to 85.6 or 85.7 right before the system shut down.
I remember this temp to be in the general area every time it shuts down but I have seen it run as high as 89F without shutting down before so im not sure.
I am also not sure if this is the reading for a specific location in the case or just the overall inside temp.
It is however sounding more like I had originaly though of as being a heat issue. If so should I restart this post in another area of the forums or wait here for responses?
