Computer isn't acknowledging new dvd/rw at all !

Hi,

I have just installed a brand new Samsumg SH-W162C dvd/rw into my tower, after my old one stopped working... but the computer isn't acknowledging that there is even a dvd/rw in the tower... at first it did say "New Hardware Found", which has now disappeared! I used the installation cd that came with the dvd/rw, but that didn't seem to work.

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can get this up and running please reply asap (Krispycrackers1@aol.com)

Please select the option from these options -

If it`s not recognized in the Device Manager,check it`s connected and cofigured properly
properly.HOW INSTALL CD/DVD

If it`s recognized in the Device Manager,but has a problem,uninstall the driver
and all software,then reinstall from the CD.Don`t let Windows do it.

If it`s recognized in the Device Manager,but not in Explorer,try REG FIX

Hi,

It`s not recognized in the Device Manager,and I've check it`s connected properly, but still haven't had any joy with it! The only thing that sees to work on the dvd/rw is the light flashes on the front (when the computer is first turned on), and the dvd draw opens and closes!

The computer still doesn't want to recognise that the dvd/rw even exists!

Is there any way that I can get the computer to acknowledge the dvd/rw is actually connected and in the tower?
