Computer keeps trying to restart but cant!

    hi my cpu cuts it self off and i would have to wait about 30 min for it to come back on. but yesterday i was working and it just shuts down and tries to restart but wont go pass the boot from cd screen it just keeps doing that over and over and over no matter how long i keep it on.

    any suggestions on what to do thanks

    It sounds like it is trying to boot from a CD in your drive. Remove all media and try again. But usually when it finds a CD that is not bootable it will move on and boot form the hard drive. Post back whether or not that helps.

    Thanks but didn't work. it wont even get to that screen. i have only two options (i think) tab or esc(?) my cpu has been shutting it self off for about a month. i thought it was the memory so i started uninstalling programs & deleting files.
