Computer locking up!

By Conteur
Mar 3, 2007
  1. I have been getting a message from my antivirus program that a file in C:\System Volume Information\_restore{11B4CBB0-31B0-483C-A4FE-D6E9E8C1A928} is identified as Exploit-Obscure.HTML. The computer is locked up at this point and requires a reboot. Also I have noticed some folders under my C: drive with very long names like: bb32b61c15f9d20b7e227829. They contain another folder named "update" and an executable. The folders are read only which cannot be unset. Attached is my Hijackthis log file.
    Thanks,
    Conteur

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

    Regards Howard
