Hi all

My trusty Toshiba has being giving us no end of grief this week.

After around half-an-hour's browsing the web, it just kind of freezes. It won't unfreeze until I restart, which always takes forever to log off first.

I'm running Vista (Windows Firewall off) with Zone Alarm Firewall and Avast Free v5.0.594 running.

The system has been trouble free for ages and rarely shows up any issues when I periodically run the full Avast scan plus Spybot, MBAM, AdAware and SUPERFree AntiSpyware.

I did this recently after the system started messing around.

TBH these problems started around the time I upgraded Avast, and I wonder if this has anything to do with it?

I attach an HJT lof for your generous perusals... :grinthumb

Please help!

Cheers

By the way, do I need to be running all of this stuff these days? (This was what I was told on here back in the day :) )

I only normally run Avast and ZA real time, the others I just run periodically. However, after a full Avast scan, SFAS and MBAM, Ad-aware and Spybot found nothing...

Not for a long run, but we want to see, if Avast is the culprit.
Make sure, your firewall is up and you should be fine for testing purposes.
