Computer will make a noise, then do nothing.

My friend (who doesn't have time to post this, but will reply) has a dilemma.

He has his motherboard set up in his case and all the jumpers plugged in.

Now, when he turns on the power supply and presses the "Power" switch, his PS makes a wierd buzzing noise then nothing happens.

I have the same case with the same power supply, and mine turns on just fine.

I told him it was the power supply, but maybe one of you had this problem before.

If you've got identical systems, have you compared the two to see what he's done differently than you?

It could be something as simple as a Jumper in the wrong position...

The buzzing in the PSU might just be the fan, but could also, as you said, be a fault...

He claims he double checked everything And no, he has a different motherboard than I. He has a Shuttle AB60N and I have an ASUS P4P800-Deluxe

Could you please list his specs so we'll be able to see if there is anything in them that could be problem?

Motherboard was shorting so he fixed the mobo and everything works
