Computer will not boot

  1. Hey I have a 1.6 Ghz AMD Duron with 512 ram that I built yesterday. When I booted it up and installed everything, the computer worked fine. However when I shut down the computer and try to reboot, nothing happens. The power is there, the cd drives are blinking and I dun even get to the bios. However, when I unplug the cd drives, then I get to the boot screen. THe keyboard will work only while the ram is counting. Afterwards, nothing works. Anyone can help me? I tried clearing the CMOS already and no go.

Do you have some different ram you can try? If not, then try taking one stick out (assuming you have two) and see if you can load up.
