Computer won't start

I have a compaq presario 6000 p4 2.4ghz with 512mb ram and crappy integraded video that just won't start
ASUS ASM58 mozart-2 motherboard (i think thats the mother board model, not sure)
I tried using a new switch and a power supply i know works, and even putting it in a different case, and it dosen't even make the fan in the powersupply turn!

The motherboard may just have died on you... it was a wise thing to try a known good power supply first. The power supply needs a signal from the motherboard to be able to turn on

My brother and his friend cleaned out a repossesed house for a job, and found it there, so it was no suprise to me. At least it was free, and i got quite a few parts and a socket 478 p4 that might still work.
