i have a MSI 7800 gt video card and i want to hook up another monitor. would it be smart to get another card and sli them together?and if so does it matter what kinda card i need or do i need the exact same one? and is it better to hook up one monitor per card or to put two monitors on one card?

There's no need to use SLI technology, if you just want to hook up two monitors. SLI is just for gamers wanting high-end video performance
Just use two monitors on the same card, I'm pretty sure that your 7800GT has 2 video outputs.

yea thast what i thought but i like to play bf2 alot. and bf 2142. will i really notice a difference or should i just not bother with sli?

well..

i dont think you can run a dual display and sli at the same time and im not sure if dual display brings down the games performance while doing sometihng else such as browsing the interent
