Connecting a new computer to my wireless modem

I have a new roommate that wants to hook up to my wireless modem but he can't see my user. I can see it as well as others in my neighbourhood. He is using vista, how do we get the wireless connection for his computer?

Is your room mate using a laptop computer, if so has he got the wireless turned on? I know it seems a strange question but I have gone to sort out many wireless problems to find that the built in wireless is not turned on.
