connection error

    this is what happens after i dial onto the internet, and after it validates my password on my pc:

    Error 720: The connection attempt failed because your computer and the remote computer could not agree on PPP control protoclas.

    any ideas how to fix this?

    Does it happen constantly?

    I use XP pro, BT voyager100 adsl modem, and (RUN! RUN AWAY!!!), AOL as my ISP, connecting directly with the modem software. (Not the dreaded AOL client. Not even installed on my machine. not a trace of it)

    I get this message from time to time, but usually not twice in a row. When I redial, I connect normally.
