I have 3 computers hooked up to a router, 1 wireless 2 wired. One that is wired will not connect It says " network cable unplugged". Plugs are ok put different one in, uninstalled driver, then reinstalled, restart still can't get on. Opened case put ethernet card in different slot and installed driver again no good. Could I have a bad ethernet card?

forgot

I should also mention that it says ethernet card working properly. This seemed to happen when we had lightning storm so I cut power t o desktop and did not turn back on for 2 days.

you could have a bad card, you could pick one up for 5 buks now days. was your computer on when you hade the lightning storm??

No I had turned it off. I know cards are cheap maybe that's why they break for no reason. It is kind of strange that the other 2 comps work okay. I don't know if it would have to do with the IP settings either because no problem with the laptop wireless and the other wired one.
