My wife and I are buying a new (to us) home. The previous owner ran several cables in the house, including network, cable/sat and speaker.
I have a LANRover Pro I can use to test the CAT5 drops. I was looking for a continuity tester, or something similar, to test and isolate the other cables. I was thinking I could use my Fox & Hound tester for the other wires. It is one of those testers a lot of Telecom Techs use to tone out phone pairs. Do you think that would work on speaker wires and coax cable?
I need something I can hook/clip to one end of a cable, wire, etc., then go down in the basement and tone/test the other end of the cable to find which one it is, or to see if the line is even in tact.
Thanks in advance for your help.
