Correctly Networking My Classroom

I've networked (Workgroup) 18 student computers and 1 teacher computer via a 24 port ethernet switch (No internet connection). The only problem I'm experiencing so far is that only 14 of the student computers can access the shared folder on the teacher computer at one time. Is this the limit of a workgroup? Can I wire the room differently to get better results? Thanks.

that says the max incomming connections for xp is 10.. but that is less than your 14?

from what i have found the maximum users that can be connected to one share is 10. how you managed to get 14 at the same tiime is interesting...


the only thing i can think of would be to split share 1 up into 2 sections...

share1 and share2 and assign half to each shared folder. then copy any materials they may need to pull from the share and put them in both folders.
