A tough act to follow for the competition, even for the likes of Intel, Corsair announced the Force MP500 SSD shortly after the release of the dominating Samsung 960 Series. The Force MP500 is a high-speed NVMe SSD targeting power users available in a variety of capacities: 480GB, 240GB and even a piddly 120GBer.

Overall this seems like a good product but with the wrong price, Hopefully, lack of sales will sort that out.

Samsungs 950/960 Pro/Evo's still reign supreme. If Corsair can put out it's own NVMe driver that greatly enhances the drive, then I might consider it. As of now the 960 Evo is sooo much better & affordable. Don't buy this drive as of now, like it cost's more than the 960 Pro per gigabyte plus it is way slower...

Corsair seems to have missed the mark a bit. this thing should be evo money, not pro money, and really needs to have a 1TB option. As is, it is competition to the 950 pro, a year late.

and unlike the 960 pro, is actually available to purchase.

Despite an apparently good piece of hardware MP500 represents, CORSAIR didn't "Force" themselves to develop the software part of things. The "so acclaimed" and necessary SSD Toolbox is in fact an old and rusty "Emptybox", at least for this new series...

They are advertising on the product's page about SSD Toolbox support for S.M.A.R.T, over-provisioning, firmware update etc. and it is a HUGE LIE! How can they let us buy their products without providing not only the necessary support but the promised one... This is very unusual for a company like this... It seems like they didn't update this app since 2013!!!

So, if an ordinary extension-utility like this doesn't yet support the involved hardware to fully-enable it's features and extend it's life, how can we expect anything else from CORSAIR... ?
