Counter-strike issue

Hey, I just got CS:S. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT video card and a Realtek HD sound card. My computer surpasses the max required stats by a large amount, but for some reason every 5-ish minutes, counter-strike will freeze up and all I can see is the landscape with out any characters. I'll press the start key and sometimes it'll shrink CS:S and I can click back on it, and it'll be fine for another 5-10 minutes. Sometimes it just freezes though and I have to reboot, if there is any way I can somehow mess around with the settings of my computer or something to fix the issue, I'd like to know.

Do you have the latest drivers?

Yes, I reinstalled my video card driver just in case as well. I think the problem might be from an incompatible program

Have you reinstalled the game to be sure no files are corrupt?
